Luke was my nephew. Born prematurely, he never breathed on his own, survived a tracheotomy, brain tumors, lung tumors and a broken leg before finally succumbing to cancer in October 2010. Halloween would have been his 4th birthday. Luke was never able to live outside a hospital during his short time with us, and he spent most of his life in the care of Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital. This is a wonderful facility that gave him a home, an extended family and provided endless support to my family throughout Luke’s fight for life. They continue to do their amazing work and it is important to me that I help them serve other families with children in need.
Though Luke couldn’t have expressed it himself, he was a yogi. Never stuck on the past and never guaranteed a future, Luke was a sweet & happy soul who was always content in the present moment. For that reason and so many more, he was and continues to be an inspiration to my own yoga practice. I invite you to join me for a special practice to celebrate his spirit and support the hospital that allowed him to live every moment in freedom despite his many challenges. Sign Up
