Coming to Blackbird takes determination, guts and sweat. All our instructors have proven a commitment to you by educating themselves in the powerful methods they teach. You will see all of us beside you on our mats and in the community making a difference. You can walk through your life or you can fly through it. Up to you. So we ask you – WHY WALK WHEN YOU CAN FLY?
Services and Rates
We believe that teaching starts only with our growth as individuals. You will see us on the mat beside you. We will be in your community. We will grow when you grow, you will grow as we grow. We offer Pilates, Power Yoga (Vinyasa Yoga) and BB Barre because they work together and support each other. All three are mind and body focused promoting growth, strength and peaceful relaxation.
Yoga is a moving meditation.
The yoga taught at Blackbird is powerful and vigorous focusing on the bandhas, asanas and breath control. Based in the deep awareness of joining mind and body together. Working with the core to control the breath and the strength of the postures you become part of your practice and part of the community. The yoga at Blackbird flows and allows you to challenge your body and mind with focus and intent. You are encouraged to peel the layers away and set yourself free.
Classes held at the Birdhouse are in a HOT studio where you will find a cushioned wood floor supports your practice. Mats and towels are provided but feel free to bring your own. The room will get to around 90+ degrees. Please wear clothing you are comfortable moving and sweating in.
Classes at the Nest are not heated and will be around 70 degrees. You may still sweat but not as much. We do not provide mats or towels in this space (we have a few mats but encourage you to bring your own). Wear comfortable clothing.
Yoga classes run between 1 hour or 75 mins.

HOT POWER YOGA
Vinyasa yoga in the heat. Prepare to sweat and challenge your mind and body to new limits. Yoga is not only an exercise it is a lifestyle. Classes at the Bird House generally run 85 degrees.
FOUNDATIONS OF FLOW
Are you new to yoga? Just want to get a greater understanding of the postures on your mat or needing to find a way to just let go of your day for even an hour? Join us in a Workshop where we will explore the Foundations and Principles that make up Power Vinyasa Yoga. ~ Increased flexibility ~ Increased strength ~ Cardiovascular and digestive health ~ Sense of well being & relaxation Together we will explore Basics of Breathing, Sun Salutations, Standing Postures and Hip Openers! Learn to be in your body and just be!!!
SEASONAL BIRDBATH PADDLEBOARD YOGA
Birds in the Bath! Yoga on a Paddleboard – Balance and core – alignment. Take your YOGA outside and explore… We will paddle out to a “classroom” drop anchor and then have class. After Savasna – which is a truly incredible relaxation on the water we head back to shore.

Want to be a ballerina or just look like one? BB Barre combines ballet with pilates and yoga. Barre is small isometric movements targeting the specific muscle groups of the chest, arm, thighs, butts and abs. We dare you not to shake. After we work your muscles to the edge deep stretching will help you sculpt your body into a swan.
All of our pilates instructors at Blackbird are trained authentic instructors through Power Pilates.
Pilates is based on the principle that the first step to a strong sound body and mind is the development of the core. The stability and strength of the core will in turn lead to a balance of the abdominal muscles, the back and the buttocks. Once this is set in place the peripheral parts come into play to challenge the core. Each pilates exercise is a play of opposition. Movement in one direction is challenged by the stabilization in the opposite. This allows Pilates to lengthen and strengthen muscles. Mental focus is key. Learning to concentrate fully into each exercise, focusing on precision and control. Being one with your body. That is Pilates.
The ultimate core conditioning exercise, taught as developed by Joseph Pilates. Bust your belly and feel great after. Small props are frequently used and are provided. 60 minutes.

All classes are all access. Your pass allows you to take Yoga, Pilates or BB Barre at either studio.
